I started out as a painter, and much of my work reflects social concerns. This piece is called "No More Sacrifices."
Another twosome! Much of my work is collage, a technique I've developed in the popular Fashion Cats series.
I love hand work! This sea serpent is made of paper clay, hand-painted canvas, hand-dyed silk, and handmade paper.

I love to try new ways of bringing my fanciful creatures to life.

I began seriously working as an artist after I retired from an academic career that was quite different from the realm of Flying Cats. After twenty years I'm still busy making these elegant creatures: painting them, collaging them, molding and sewing them, and doing whatever else I can think of to bring them into the world.
